Captivate Exhibits, the regional leader in full-service trade show marketing and production of custom exhibits and displays, is celebrating its 30th anniversary after successfully weathering pandemic-driven challenges.
“This milestone is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the successes and challenges we have experienced, especially over these past few years,” said David Jentz, Executive Vice-President of Captivate Exhibits. “We are blessed with an incredible team and clients who trust us to create dynamic trade show displays that promote their brand and facilitate face-to-face interaction with their customers.”
New Name. Same Great Company.
Recently honored with an award for being among Milwaukee’s Best Places to Work, the team at Captivate leveraged their creativity and hard work to endure a near total shut down of the trade show industry during the pandemic. Among their strategies included pivoting to providing PPE and outdoor structures through their subsidiary, Enclave Outdoor.
The company honed its focus during these past few years, which resulted in a re-brand. Formerly known as Exhibit Systems, the leadership team announced the change to Captivate Exhibits in 2021.
“We chose Captivate Exhibits because we are so much more than a ‘systems’ display builder,” said Richard Magliocco, President of Captivate Exhibits. “We design and fabricate custom exhibits
used at some of the largest trade shows in the world. Our team goes wherever needed to ensure that clients’ displays are shipped and set up to maximize their show experience. We still offer off-the-shelf display solutions, but our focus is overwhelmingly on serving as a custom display house that does everything unique.”
A History of Growth
Under the name Captivate Exhibits, the company has enjoyed explosive growth, adding dozens of clients in the past 12 months alone. This upward trajectory is nothing new. Captivate Exhibits’ 30-year history shows a consistent pattern of delivering excellence for customers, leading to sustained growth.
The company was founded in Milwaukee in 1992. The firm moved to Menomonee Falls, Wis., where in 2007 it was purchased by Jentz and co-owner Richard Magliocco, President of Captivate Exhibits. Steady growth led to its relocation to Brookfield, Wis., in 2013. The move, into a former industrial building that was completely gutted and renovated, more than doubled the company’s space for production, offices and storage of exhibits.
In 2018 the company expanded its capacity with the purchase of KMK Industries, a longtime provider of custom and modular displays. The purchase added much-needed manufacturing space, as well as talented craftsmen. To accommodate their sustained growth, the company obtained additional space from CH Coakley in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
“The trade show industry has shown resilience in these challenging years,” Jentz said. “The value of meeting with customers and prospects face-to-face
is as true today as it ever was. We welcome anyone interested in learning more to visit us. Our showroom features a variety of displays that demonstrate a combination of creativity and craftsmanship, along with cutting-edge technology resulting in dynamic experiences for trade show attendees.”
